I went to YSL in search of a new foundation. A friend recommended YSL and it was on my list to try, but I only got around to it now and having tried it, I’m now devastated it took me this long.
I’ve been unhappy with my foundation for years. I used to use Mac’s full cover foundation religiously until they changed their formula and it just didn’t agree with me, it would smear and sink into pores, giving a really bad and uneven finish. Since then I’ve tried several from Mac, Benefit and No7, none of which I felt were ideal.
I bought the Fusion Ink foundation and It’s the best I’ve used in years, if not ever! YSL don’t use powders in their foundation but it glides on very light and leaves an almost powdered finish which I love. It’s full cover but I have to use very little to achieve a pretty flawless coverage. It lasts well throughout the day (in all weather, this week has been great to test it as we’ve had humidity, heat and torrential rain) and doesn’t smear. It’s made using oils which evaporate away after application, leaving only pigment behind. This smells amazing and gives the foundation it’s really light feel. I’m completely converted.
Whilst there, I picked up a lipstick and lipgloss (oops) and I’m equally as impressed. I love the shade of the burgundy lipgloss (Prune Organdi), it’s scented lightly and the applicator brush negates the need for a lip brush. The lipstick is also scented and has great colour payoff, I love the light blush pink nude shade (Pink In Paris), it goes with just about everything.
I’m now dying to get my hands on more of their products, I’m currently coveting these:
1. Gloss Volupte in Nude Carat, Or Rose & Rose Fusion.
2. Luxurious Mascara for False Lash Effect.
3. Couture Variation Palette luxury variant, in NU.
4. Vernis À Lèvres Pop Water Glossy Stain lipgloss in steamy violet.
5. Rouge Volupté Shine in Pourpre Intouchable.
6. Rouge Pur Couture Vernis à Lèvres Glossy Stain – Plump Up.
Do you use any YSL products? Any you would recommend?
