Antipodes Mineral Foundation

Having previously tried some of Antipode’s natural skincare products, I was curious to see what their cosmetic products were like. Antipodes are an organic skincare brand who pack their products with natural ingredients which are super kind to skin. I was sent their mineral foundation * to check out, which is described as having hydrating qualities and is available in four shades: light yellow, pale pink, medium beige and tan.

As I wasn’t sure on my best match, I was given light yellow and pale pink to try. Starting with the light yellow, I applied a fair amount of product to Antipode’s Natural Hair Kabuki Brush * and applied over my foundation from earlier that morning.

My first observation about this product was just how much coverage it offers, I’m definitely team full coverage, thus my decision to apply over foundation, but it would be a great full cover powder foundation on it’s own. It smoothly glides on and gives skin a really flawless finish, far smoother than I’ve been able to achieve in a long while.

The powder has a slight sheen to it, giving skin a flattering glow. In terms of it’s colour, I found Light Yellow was a perfect match for me, but it blends really nicely with whatever tone is underneath; So much so, I tried to pale pink shade too and found that also matched me.

The pale pink powder reminds me of Benefit’s High Beam in colour and gives the same look as foundation over a illuminating primer.

After a bit of experimenting I found that my ideal combo was wearing a thin application of the light yellow mineralise foundation over my normal base make up (liquid foundation and concealer), with the pale pink in my highlight areas – because you can never have too much highlighter!

Quick to apply, for days where less make up is desired I find applying the mineralise powder over my normal primer and finishing with setting spray as normal is sufficient, but as I love how flawless it looks when combined with my usual base make up I tend to wear it that way. The great thing about this product is how versatile it is.

The Natural Hair Kabuki Brush holds tons of product and feels super soft, which makes it great for applying this loose powder.

I was really impressed with this product and love how it looks on my skin, discovering that it hydrates the skin whilst you wear it is the cherry on the cake.

Have you tried Antipode’s scientific make up range?

I have always been a bit shy about trying mineral foundations as I worry that the coverage wont be as full as i’m used to. This sounds like it would be really good though – loved the post 🙂 x

I was really impressed with it! I’ve used the MAC equivalent and was underwhelmed but this has made me view them differently, I’ve been using this product every day since and will be restocking when it’s gone 🙂

      Thank you! 🙂 x
