A Weekend In Paris - Part Two.

Travel Diary

On my second day in Paris, I woke up with a major macaroon craving and so decided to go and find the famous Laduree bakery. It was the cutest shop imaginable, mint green exterior with a window display of carefully stacked and colour matched macaroons.

I selected a pink box filled with chocolate, salted caramel, raspberry and rose flavoured macaroons.

The rose flavour was my favourite and I’m not ashamed to admit we went through a ridiculous amount of macaroons during our time there.

After sufficiently stocking up on macaroons, we headed towards the Eiffel Tower. I figured it would be nice to see, but it wasn’t one of the things on the agenda I was most excited by, however in reality it was so impressive and such a beautiful structure. I’m really glad I’ve seen it, although we didn’t hang around for too long, as pick pockets were rife in that area.

Paris is a blogger’s paradise; Marble everywhere!

I wanted to visit some of the ornate cemetaries of Paris, so we walked to Montmartre, a sprawling cemetery in the middle of a built up area, going under bridges at some points. It’s home to a group of stray cats, who we spotted cautiously wondering around.

Not content with the amount of junk we had consumed, we stopped at a crepe hut for some Nutella crepes, yum.

Something which has been on my to-do list for ages has been visiting the catacombs, which we had the chance to do this visit. I found the tunnels themselves to be really eerie, the thought of getting stuck down there as some have done doesn’t bear thinking about!

I fell in love with Paris and loved taking a city break for a change. We didn’t manage to do everything we wanted in our short time there so I look forward to coming back one day.

Did you have to pinch yourself several times through this trip just to ensure you weren’t dreaming. How is everything in Paris so amazing? I really want to try some Laduree macaroons, the ones I make usually fail haha!

It felt like that! Haha I think I appreciated them more because I’ve had several very failed attempts at making them and know they’re all hand made … I don’t think there’s a future for me in that role!

Paris is the one place that I am dying to visit. I’m currently in Sydney and Europe is a long way from here 🙁 My boyfriend Erdal, and I are planning on reuniting in London or Paris next time we meet up (we are in a long distance relationship) – Paris looks so romantic and perfect 🙂 xx

Lovely, lovely photos, by the way.

I loved your Paris blog posts! It’s been years since I last visited. I definitely want to pay a visit in the future again, even if just for some of those beautiful macarons! x
